Gender Discourse in India : Recent Trends

CSSP is organizing a lecture-cum-discussion session on ‘Gender Discourse in India: Recent Trends’ (भारत में महिला-विमर्श: अधुनातन प्रवृत्तियाँ). We wish to understand how the gender discourse has shaped up during the last seven decades since independence. What are the latest trends? How education, political and economic empowerment of women and the role of social media have impacted women’s attitudes, beliefs and values? Has modern society changed, if at all, attitudes, beliefs and values of men and society towards women? How the gender discourse is likely to shape up in future?

Prof. Kumud Sharma from Delhi University, Delhi will be the main speaker.

We expect participants to express themselves on the subject freely and make the session interactive.

Dr. Sadhna Singh, Principal, D G College, Kanpur has consented to Chair the session.

Kindly take seats ten minutes before time to avoid any inconvenience.
