Regarding the Course

A democratic country like India has been suffering from the lack of professional politicians since the beginning. But initially politicians based on merit led the country. Later the circumstances changed and due to popularity and electoral flaws, people joined the leadership class who were neither really qualified nor professional.

This leadership class has not only harmed the political culture of India but has also harmed the parliamentary procedures, parliamentary decorum, and public sentiments. In such a situation, the need is felt that the leadership class not only has qualifications but also has a professional attitude towards politics.

Politics as a vocation has to be promoted in order to strengthen democracy. Courses on Political Leadership for the youth of India are very rare and sporadic in the country that provides knowledge and competencies for effective political leadership. Therefore, CSSP as an Institute of 

The candidates/students who apply for this programme  are anticipated to develop into political leaders (both in power and opposition) with a spiritual foundation for morality, ethics, and fidelity to the desires of the people who have given them the mandate. The main aims are-

·       To understand the procedure and functioning of the legislative system (Parliament : both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha);

·       to impart Indian values, cultures, and civilization to prospective leaders of the government and opposition parties;

·       to gain an understanding of the process of drafting, presenting, and passing bills in the Parliament/State Assembly.

·       To become an expert in the creation, approval, and implementation of public policy

·        Recognizing political lobbying and pressure group activity

·       To engage in conversation with political figures, lawmakers, administrators, researchers, etc.

·       To develop candidates into skilled political leaders who are knowledgeable about national and international issues, values, and cultures.

 

·        To train candidates and students to be political analysts

The objectives of the proposed course could be:

·       To comprehend India’s history, historical development, and geography

·       To gain awareness of social movements, social justice, and economic development/growth;

·       To gain knowledge of the structure, functions, and practices of national, state, and regional governments and ministries.

·        To comprehend financial aspects of India, such as budget preparation, approval, and execution

·       To comprehend the electoral process, including voting procedures

·       To be aware of environmental issues, disaster management, etc.

·       To develop candidates into skilled political leaders who are knowledgeable about national and international issues, values, and cultures.

 

·       To train candidates and students to be political analysts

There are a lot of young scholars who want to be political leaders, but relatively few of them actually live up to those aspirations. In reality, many political leaders appear to be woefully lacking in some of the most crucial leadership traits, such responsibility and honesty. The youth, on the other hand, are unaware of how the political system functions. This course is an attempt to fulfil the aspirations of these scholars.

Field Studies

Students and candidates have the potential to evolve into morally upright political leaders who will work hard for India’s long-term prosperity. To become democratic leaders who uphold democratic values, young people from various regions, states, UTs, and parts of India as well as from overseas (international) can enrol in the Political Leadership Academy.

 

Many political parties—at the national, state/regional, and local levels—will nominate their likely candidates in order for them to contribute to the maintenance of the environment, economic growth, social development, and sustainable development, among other things.

 

The people of India will have a wide range of excellent political leaders to pick from who can lead the government and the opposition in the proper manner. Instead of being regarded as doing the wrong thing at the right moment, let politics become the art and science of doing the right thing at the right time.

 

The learning style will involve Teaching, Lecture, Assignments on National/International Leaders, Projects, Visits to prominent Institutes/Organizations, Workshops, Seminars/Conferences, Project based and External,  Visiting Lecture by Eminent Academicians, Researchers, Politicians, Party Leaders, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)

Each participant will receive the course packet, which includes PowerPoint presentations, original research, learning aids, reading materials, etc., The instructional approach will feature interactive lectures led by subject-matter specialists, Q&A sessions, group discussions, case studies, and expert learning.

The course is intended for working professionals who are enthusiastic about learning all there is to know about the details of political leadership. The course is open to political activists, other HEI students who have earned their degrees, and consultants from the social and political fields.
