This intensive one-day workshop is designed for individuals seeking to understand the science behind elections – psychology – and gain practical skills in analysing election data.

Workshop Highlights:

  • A comprehensive exploration of psephology, its historical development, and its role in understanding elections.
  • Deep dive into various election types (general elections, by-elections, etc.) and the factors influencing their outcomes (social, economic, political).
  • Introduction to key psephological concepts like turnout, swing, and prominent psephological models.
  • diverse landscape of election data sources, including exit polls, opinion polls, and official election results.
  • Exploration of reliable data sources for election analysis, encompassing election commission websites, credible news reports, and research databases.
  • Introduction to industry-standard data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Python (brief overview)
